2019 Christmas Social on 12/18 – Reserve early!

Reservations are now being accepted for the Pond’s 2019 Christmas Social, which will be held on Wednesday, December 18 at the Virginia War Memorial.  Family members and guests are welcome!!!

The event cost is $45/pp when paid by the RSVP deadline and $50 thereafter, and includes food, beverages (wine, beer and soft drinks), access to all exhibits, plus great fellowship!  RSVP’s are requested by 12/13 in order to make sure we have enough food and beverages!

The venue will be closed to the public during the event.  An optional private group tour of the memorial and new renovations is being offered at 5:30 pm, just prior to the social.  For those who have not visited the memorial, it is a wonderful monument to the men and women who have defended our Country from WWII to the present. Its location offers a beautiful view of the James River and Richmond City skyline, which will be decorated for the holiday season.

December Charity – As is our holiday tradition, attendees are encouraged to bring a donation for the USO center at the Richmond Int’l Airport.  The USO provides hospitality to thousands of troops and their families during the holiday season.  Needs include individual size snacks and beverages, travel size toiletries, and cash/gift cards.

Prize raffle tickets will also be sold at this event with all proceeds going to the USO.  Raffle prize donations are welcome!

We hope you and your guest(s) will join us!

Another Shuckin’ Hit for CZC

We are very pleased to report another successful October social and charity fundraiser!

The weather unfortunately did not cooperate and forced us to move inside.  But the room was very spacious and comfortable, and provided a cozy atmosphere for the event.  The Richmond  Country Club did an excellent job with the food and service.  Our musician, Bethany Gates, is very talented and gracious.  All in all, it was a wonderful evening and a very successful fundraiser for Comfort Zone Camp (CZC).  Check out the album on our photos page.

We would like to thank everyone who came out for the evening and especially the event sponsors.  Thanks also to the event coordinator, Rick Bulifant, who did an awesome job with the arrangements.

We are already looking forward to next year!

October 16 Shuckin’ & Jivin’

The Virginia Pond’s 2019 Shuckin’ & Jivin’ event will take place on Wednesday, October 16 at the Richmond Country Club in Henrico, VA. Proceeds will benefit Comfort Zone Camp (CZC), a safe place for grieving kids.

Join us for an evening of fellowship, oysters and other items off the grill, and live music – all for a great cause!  Our entertainer this year is Bethany Gates, whom Style Weekly readers voted one of this year’s best musicians in Richmond!  Photos from last year’s event are online.

This event is open to family, friends and industry professionals.  The cost is $32 when paid by October 12 or $35 at the door, which includes food and entertainment. A full cash bar will be available.

We hope you will plan to join us, along with your guest(s).  Make your reservation now!

August 21 Summer Social Fun

This year’s summer social at Isley Brewing was a great success! It was really nice to see so many new and returning faces.

The venue did a great job of hosting our group, giving us the entire venue. JW Thomas did an awesome job with the music. Many raved about the food provided by Gourmet Meltz. And everyone clearly enjoyed the fellowship. Check out the album on our photos page!

MANY THANKS to Jet Thomas to coordinating the event and to our generous sponsors who made it all possible:

August 21 Social at Isley Brewing

Join the Virginia Pond on August 21 for it’s annual summer social, this year at Isley Brewing Company in Scott’s Addition, Richmond. Family members and industry guests are invited to this event!

Isley Brewing Company, located at 1715 Summit Ave., was the first craft brewery to open in Scott’s Addition and was listed in 2017 as one of the world’s best travel-worthy breweries in the world by USA Today.

The social officially starts at 5:30. The cost is $27/pp when paid in advance or $30/pp at the door. Included are 2 craft beverages/samplers of choice, food, live music, and (as always) great fellowship! Please reserve early and no later than August 19.
