November 20 Friendsgiving

In lieu of a Christmas social, the Pond will host a special evening of ‘Friendsgiving’ to kick off the holidays.

Join us from 5:30 to 8pm at Roma’s Italian Ristorante in Richmond for an evening of great food, fellowship, and ‘holiday cheer’, while supporting our troops through the USO Hospitality Center at RIC.

The event cost is $40 in advance/$45 at the door and includes a four (4) course dinner buffet, non-alcoholic beverages, and a limited selection of wine and beer. A full cash bar will also be available, as well as 1/2 price specials on other wines.

As is our holiday tradition, our feature charity for the evening is the USO of Central Virginia.  Guests are encouraged to bring in-kind donations for the USO hospitality center at RIC.  A list of acceptable items is here.  Prizes will be raffled off to raise additional funds.  Prize donations are welcome!

Reservations are requested by Friday, November 15. Reserve your spot now!

Virginia Pond Wins 2021 BG Charity Award

Each year at the annual business meeting held during its annual convention, the Honorable Order of the Blue Goose International recognizes ponds with exceptional contributions in the area of charity. The awards were started not for the purposes of competition, but for inspiration. This year, the Virginia Pond received the charity award for its financial donations during the 2020-2021 fund year.

The Virginia Pond was able to maintain its commitment to support local charities in spite of the COVID climate this past year. Contributions were more impactful to these charities because of the COVID climate and its interference with organizations’ normal fund raising activities. A full list of charities that received funds from the pond is below.

On behalf of these charities, we would like to take the opportunity to thank the generous sponsors and loyal participants who consistently support the pond’s charity fundraisers. This award belongs to you. Well done!
