Charity is a primary focus for Blue Goose

The Virginia Pond and its Puddles support many local charities through service and fundraising activities, and have contributed tens of thousands of dollars in recent years.  Below is a list of some of the Virginia charities we support on a regular basis.  Click on the logo to visit a charity’s website.

ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation is a non-profit group that provides assistance, support and kindness when kids and their families need it most.  ASK provides assistance from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond.

BCANLogoBladder Cancer Advocacy Network is an organization comprized of survivors, advocates, medical and research professionals.  Their goal is to provide support services to individuals and families affected by bladder cancer, advance research, and raise awareness about the 6th most commonly diagnosed cancer in the U.S.

Comfort Zone Camp (CZC) is an organization that helps kids who have experienced the death of an immediate family member or primary care giver through week long camps and other support activities. The Virginia Pond has raised tens of thousands of dollars for CZC through its annual fall Shuckin’ & Jivin’ event.  (See photos)

Laticia’s House Foundation is an organization that restores the lives of young ladies who fall victim to the sex trafficking industry.  Founded in Virginia and by the wife of a Blue Goose member, it is a holistic program that provides safe housing, medical care, counseling, education and job training to women from all over the United States. 

Tech For Troops (T4T) takes donations of used computer equipment and uses them to provide training, education and technology opportunities for veterans and their families.  Founded in Richmond, T4T has grown to support veterans nationwide.

The Virginia Home, founded in 1894, is a Richmond based residence for adults with irreversible physical disabilities.  Their mission is to ensure residents lifelong comfort and security, regardless of the ability to pay – helping them live meaningful lives in spite of major physical challenges.

The USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides support to U.S. Armed Forces personnel and their families worldwide.  A USO Center was opened at the Richmond Airport in 2010.  The Virginia Pond annually donates funds and snack items during the USO’s busy holiday season.
